Advantech and B+B – Enabling an Intelligent Planet Together

It has been more than two months since I’ve written, and I need to catch up.  First, I hope that your holidays were as enjoyable as mine.  My family and I escaped the frozen tundra of Illinois to relax on a warm beach, something I’d recommend to every Midwesterner. And while we were soaking up the sun and enjoying the ocean, the deal to merge B+B SmartWorx was officially signed.  B+B is now part of a much larger company.  As a member of the Advantech family we’ll be able to deliver more solutions, more products, and more services.

It’s been a bit of a blur since I got back.  I’ve had one great discussion after another with B+B’s new family members.  They’ve all been fun, energetic and passionate people, and there are many more to meet.  Our B+B family has expanded from under 300 people to over 7000.

It will take a little time to get to know a family this big, and there are lots of details to sort out. But the big pieces are already well aligned.  Advantech and B+B share a common vision, strategy and passion for bringing great products and solutions to a rapidly changing world.

Advantech has a tagline that I’ve always admired: “Enabling an Intelligent Planet.”  That’s a grand vision.  B+B strives towards the same goal, but it would have been a big task for B+B to take on alone. So it’s exciting to be part of an organization that not only shares that vision, it also has the resources to truly make a difference.

Here’s to an exciting 2016, engineering our way to a better world.
