B+B SmartWorx Launches New PoE Plus Switches with Fiber SFP Ports for Industrial and Commercial Applications

PoE+ power and data connectivity for devices in harsh environments

Ottawa, IL – December 8,  2015 – B+B SmartWorx, a manufacturer of technology for intelligent M2M/IoT edge processing and connectivity, today announced three new managed PoE+ (Power over Ethernet) switches, complementing the recent release of its unmanaged PoE+ Ethernet switches and completing the product line.  These switches simplify the installation of powered devices (PD) such as IP Cameras/CCTV, wireless access points, VoIP phones, sensors and digital signage. PoE eliminates the need for additional power outlets, reducing cable runs and complicated cable management.

Designed for use in both industrial and commercial environments, these plug and play switches feature Smart PoE Management with dynamic input power derating monitoring, Remote PoE reset, -40ºC to +85ºC wide temperature specifications, IP30 metal enclosures and the ability to sustain shock, vibration and freefall.  They provide multiple 10/100/1000Base-T copper ports, gigabit SFP fiber ports for easy installation, redundant DC power inputs, SNMP management, and Auto-Cross for MDI/MDIX .  Multiple status LEDs display link status for the copper and SFP ports, PoE+ status, Power and Fault Relay.  The copper ports provide up to 30W of power for connected devices without interfering with data transmission. The switches support any gigabit MSA-compliant SFP.

The managed switches include the ESWGP506-2SFP-T with (4) RJ-45 copper ports and (2) fiber SFP ports,  the ESWGP510-2SFP-T with (8) RJ-45 copper ports and (2) fiber SFP ports, and the ESWGP512-4SFP-T with (8) RJ-45 copper ports and (4) fiber SFP ports.

Their unmanaged counterparts are the ESWP205-1SFP-T, with (4) 10/100 Base-T PoE+ Ethernet ports and (1) 100BaseFX fiber SFP port, and the ESWGP206-2SFP-T, with (4) 10/100/1000Base-T PoE+ Ethernet ports and (2) gigabit fiber SFP ports.
